Kaywoodie Month at Briar Blues

As you know, March is Kaywoodie Month at Briar Blues. Since they are the sponsor of today’s Blob, you can get the code when you get down that far.

Wait until you see the newsletter today. A bit bigger than normal, but there is a lot going on. Didn’t want to leave out the news about the Muletown Pipe Show. And, there is a batch of J. Mouton pipes dropping this week at Tobaccopipes.com. They have been out for quite some time.

The thing with Mr. Mouton’s pipes is every single one of them is like a commissioned pipe. I haven’t seen one yet that I wouldn’t want. I have to be very careful looking to see what’s available. I’m thinking that if I haven’t found one of the pipes on the list I’ve been searching for this year, I may just get another J. Mouton.

Planning Ahead

Speaking of the newsletter, coming up is one of the two times in the year when my schedule is totally unforgiving. Last year I had a very hard time keeping up with The Blob, and I even scrapped it in the Fall. I’m going to try to keep up, but if you have anything for the newsletter, you have to get it to me way in advance. No last minute entries. If I don’t get it by Saturday, it’s not going to make it in that week.

And don’t forget that I’m not participating in the ridiculous, phony daylight savings time. So you will have to keep that in mind if you contact me and it is time sensitive.  I do realize that being a watchmaker who sets many watches a day to the correct time is going to present multiple problems for me. But if not me, who?

Today’s sponsor is the famous Briar Blues. Which, by the way, has a live show on Tuesday afternoons and a Zoom Meet Up on Thursdays. Check your local listings.

Being Kaywoodie month at Briar Blues, if you pick up a Kaywoodie pipe this month you can get 20% off by using the coupon code Kay20 at checkout.

As one pipe influencer recently said on a live show, Kaywoodie gives you a lot of bang for the buck. Or something like that. Great pipe for an even better price. Take another 20% off, well that’s a no brainer.

Odds & Ends

St. David Pipes is doing Patton today in the Famous pipe smoker’s series. That should be a good one. The U.S. Grant one was fantastic.

If you’re a new pipe smoker you might want to check out the latest Codger Hour with Paladin Piper. Lots of great info. My guess is you will be running out to buy a Dr. Grabow after watching. I had a Dr. Grabow once and I loved it. Until it broke right in half while I was smoking it. Then I didn’t love it so much.

Want a good starter pipe, scroll back up and get that coupon code for Briar Blues.

Finally, if you want to see a non-tobacco review, Joel W- did a very good review of the Whitluck’s Pipe Roll. I have a very similar roll and as far as I’m concerned a must have accessory.

The one I have is made of Buffalo leather, but this is an inexpensive alternative. Check out the video if you don’t already have one.
