Chopper Doctor Talks Oral Health & Pipe Smoking

Yesterday, Dr. Cliff H- released a video on The Pipe Ninja channel about Pipe Smoking and oral health. I was surprised at some of the things he said. Of course, I don’t share the fear of pipe smoking like some people do, but there was always a tiny bit of apprehension especially when it came to the ol’ choppers.

The Spurgeon Piper had a similar video awhile back where he interviewed Dr. Jonathan Spurgeon DDS. Many of the same things were discussed and it makes me wonder how many doctors would agree. I’m sure most would go into CYA-mode and say what they feel they are supposed to say, but how many would agree with these two dentists? Probably more than you would think, if they had to be honest.

While watching the Dr. H- video, I was happy to see he used my exact tooth brush for show and tell. Makes me feel like I’m a little ahead of the game. While I’ve only been drinking coffee (sparingly) for a year or so, I also share his taste for the DD coffee. Where I live you can’t throw a rock without hitting a Timmy Hos, but I prefer the brand that America runs on.

If you haven’t seen the video, go watch it. And if you’re not subscribed, do so while you’re visiting. The Pipe Ninja would be so happy. But he’d still attack you like Kato on Inspector Jacques Clouseau. Chief Inspector!

MIA

I want to really apologize for the non-existent blobbing this past week. I thought I could keep up, but can’t. I had planned on filling the time with some generic articles, but even that didn’t pan out. The good news is I have a few things in the works that I’ll be able to release when I get back on my feet. I’m over half way through this busy period, but some other events have knocked me for a loop.

Please be patient and don’t give up. Keep checking in and I’ll post when I can. The goal is to get the newsletter out on Monday since I jettisoned last week’s. That was a tough thing to do since I was on a streak of a hundred and thirty something weeks without missing. I feel a little bad about it, but assure you, if there was anyway I could have gotten one out, I would have.

PocketJar MAX

The Pipery has released the newest version of the popular PocketJar, The PocketJar Max. I received a couple promotional jars and they knocked my socks off. I believe they are only 1/4″ taller than the original version, but they seem huge. They are bigger than a can of chewing tobacco and hold quite a bit. The others are big enough for a day’s worth of pipe tobacco while you’re away. But if you’re the type who doesn’t want to fill the PocketJar up everyday, or you smoke more than a couple bowls while you’re out, this might be just what you’re looking for.

I have much more to say about it later on when I can dedicate more time. It deserves more than a passing comment. For the time being, you can click over to The Pipery and see for yourself what I’m talking about.

New Phoenix Pipe Shape

The Pipe Nook has a new, limited edition, shape in the Phoenix line.

The Peterson Phoenix series XL02 Bent Apple shape! These are the largest in the line, and hold a great amount of tobacco for those long smokes. Because of their size, they also have a larger diameter stem than most, which makes for a fantastic showcase for the swirled, fiery stems that make the Phoenix series such a standout in the Peterson stable.

The stock is limited to only 24 pipes. Eddie likened it to the 150 Bulldogs he got, which only a few are left.

If you want to grab one, or just check it out, you can find them only at The Pipe Nook.
