I knew yesterday was going to be hectic, and it didn’t let me down. Today is starting off much, much better I’m happy to say. Right off the bat I see Padre Piper did a quick live/test and showed us a couple of the small batch blends he has lined up. Hopefully we can get a review of them in the near future.
One of the blends, Saint Espresso from Warped/Smokingpipes was one of them. That is the blend that The Spurgeon Piper was just talking about on Twitter and on his Community Page. Knowing nothing about the blend, I might take a pass. But finding a good pipe tobacco with cigar leaf in it is something I’ve always looked for and one with an espresso base is that much better. The upside might be worth it.
I’ll have to wait to see what both those guys say about it. Two trusted sources as far as I’m concerned.
As usual, I made a couple errors in the newsletter. The biggest one being of omission. Again, I left off the new show from Papa Bear’s Nook. I’ve put it as a news feature with a description and all, but I forgot to put it in the actual listing. Well, I did but deleted it when I got confused with something else.
I’m telling you, it was one of those days. Where your brain just short circuits and you can’t think. I hope you know what I’m talking about, because if it’s just me, I’m in big trouble.
Anyway, Papa Bear’s Nook has that show that comes on at midnight on Friday night, which is actually the start of Saturday. A weekly live show that focuses on pipe tobacco and cologne. You’ve heard me talk about it before, but if you look in the newsletter it will be blank. Totally my fault that I hope will be fixed next week. If not, then I have some serious problems.
The last time I talked about St. David’s Pipes I think I joked around that he changes his channel name as often as I change my socks. At least I think it was that channel. This time he’s kept the same name but the link is different. The correct link to St. David’s Pipes is this one. Sure hope I’m not messing this one up too. I just changed the link in the unofficial YTPC Directory. It would be just my luck to change the wrong channel link. That’s the way things have been going lately.
YES I did run out of spray paint when painting my own car. Stop asking!!
If you’re interested in the UPCA Slow Smoke competition during the Chicago Pipe Show, they have extended the registration up through Sunday, May 22nd. So if you’ve been on the fence, make a move and save a little money by getting your pipe ahead of time and pre-registering.
Now I can take my foot off the gas for a little bit and catch up on some reading and videos. Won’t be able to get through it all, but I’ll give you ten minutes.
